Vacation

Most of you know that last year my dad relocated from cold, snowy, miserable Minneapolis to the warm tropical beaches of Hawaii. And I can't think of a better time to use and abuse parents than when they live in Hawaii. With a 3-bedroom condo.

As of yesterday, John and I are booked to go visit him the week of my birthday (Happy Birthday to me!) April 12- April 19th. A full week in sunny Hawaii! It's ok...you can be jealous of us.

Now...I know MOST of you have been to Hawaii, because John and I have a disturbingly high number of friends who call Hawaii their second home. My dad has been updating his blog with their Hawaiian adventures for a while, but now John and I need to narrow down what we want to do. He lives on Oahu, if that helps. And, yes, a daytrip to Maui is on our list of things to do.

Any suggestions?

Also....it is likely I will have further vacation news for you to be jealous of coming very soon.

No fair!! Hawaii is one of my most favorite places to go! I suggest snorkeling at Hanauma (sp) Bay. Although I am sure your dad may have a better snorkeling spot. Pearl Harbor is a must! They have great shopping in Oahu too.

How exciting! That will be such a fun trip! I've never been, so no suggestions from me!

I love Hawaii! Todd and I went to Oahu for our honeymoon. You need to spend some time in the big waves on the North Shore. Definitely go snorkeling. There's also a really great place to hike to, if you're up for it- you'll end up at a great big, beautiful waterfall. I can't think of the name at the moment, but I'm sure Todd will know.

Cheeseburger In Paradise has a great breakfast, too!

I'm so jealous.. but I guess the Mayan Riviera in March isn't too shabby, either.

Yeah, well for our vacation, we get to go visit family in Texas and Illinois. Don't hate.

The only thing that will stop me from hating you right now would be the promise of an awesome souvenir.

You guys should start sessions of "Hula Hero"! All you need is a ukelele, Ipu Heke and slack-key guitar...
