Today I went to the grocery store and spent almost 2 hours there. Because I haven't been in 3 months. We haven't eaten at home in 3 months. Do you know how expensive that is?
Then we filled up almost two trashbags of empty or expired grocery items (didn't want another syrup incident...in fact, I threw out a bottle of syrup). Now I have all new groceries and a plan to eat at home for a while. I can't wait!
Then when I got home, I cleaned the kitchen sink and the garbage disposal. You know how every once in a while there is a smell that comes from deep in the sink? Usually I just run water or bleach through and it fades. But I read how to really clean it. Now I have a very shiny, citrusy kitchen sink!
It's the little things...
(BTW, one of my favorite bloggers is back from her blogging hiatus! She also happened to be a friend IRL, too.)

Did you throw out all of your old Jiffy too? Apparently when expired, that stuff can make for some really nasty cornbread.
My mom always told me about the ice/salt thing and I thought she was crazy, but I did it anyway because I didn't know what else to do. And now there it is in writing. Score one for mom.
At first I thought Liz meant Jiff Peanut butter and I was all, "Why the HECK is she putting peanut butter on cornbread?" But I now I see she meant Jiffy corn muffin mix. Duh.
Oh, and you have an email from me coming...when I am able to rationally explain my thoughts. Hehe.
I love that you get excited by the little things in life, just as I do. Since you're younger than me, it makes me feel good to know I'm not as old as I think I am. :)
What? It wasn't ME you were referring to as a favorite blogger? Hmmm.
